GirlShow and Upcoming Events

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of being part of a phenomenal event called "girlShow 2011", you may have seen signs around town and at the Dart stations for it. It was essentially a large art show featuring talented women and when I say art I mean all aspects: dance, visual, poetry, music, etc.

The show was put together by a collective called ArtLoveMagic which is a nonprofit I will be doing a feature on soon. Definitely a wonderful group to know, they put on high energy events where artists are asked to create live. That's what I was doing at girlShow, painting live so everyone could see me working.

The only drawback is that when you are sitting there working you are missing all the fun and cool stuff going on around you. Luckily there were a lot of photographers there to document the event. Check out ArtLoveMagic on Facebook to see some of the great photos that were taken. There was even a photobooth that looked like a sideways room for people to have their photos taken. Wild fun! There were female dj's, body painters, singers, a fire dancer, a burlesque performance, female breakdancers and so much more!

I will be doing a spotlight blog feature on David Rodriguez of ArtLoveMagic soon so check back and get the scoop on the hot art collective in town.

I will be doing some more live painting with ArtLoveMagic at this event which is open for youth from  ages 12-18 FREE
